The short version
We do not ask you to create an account, and we never see the salary you type. All calculations run in your own browser — no figure you enter is sent to our servers or stored by us. We do use Google Analytics and Google AdSense, which set cookies and collect usage data, and some outbound links to partners are affiliate links.
Your calculator inputs
The calculator is a piece of JavaScript running on your device. Your salary, pension, tax code and every other input stay in the browser; nothing is transmitted to us, logged, or retained.
One thing to be aware of: when you use the "copy shareable link" button, your inputs are encoded into the page address so the link reproduces your calculation. That means the URL itself contains your figures. Anyone you send that link to can see them, and it may appear in your browser history. Do not share a link you would not want read.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages people find useful. It collects information such as the pages you visit, roughly where in the world you are, your device and browser type, and how you arrived at the site. It sets cookies to do this. We use it in aggregate only — we do not attempt to identify individual visitors, and calculator inputs are not sent to it.
You can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on, or by blocking cookies for this site.
Advertising
This site carries Google AdSense advertising, which is what keeps it free. Google and its partners may use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.

Affiliate links
Some links to third-party products — investment platforms, savings comparison sites and accounting services — are affiliate links. If you follow one and sign up, we may be paid a commission by that company. It costs you nothing, and it does not change the price you pay.
Affiliate links live on their own /go/ pages, which tell you who the partner is before you leave. A commission does not buy a recommendation: no partner has any say over the calculator's figures or over what we write.
Payments
If you buy a premium plan, the payment is handled by Stripe. Stripe receives the details needed to take the payment and processes them under its own privacy policy. We never see or store your card details.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to access, correct or erase personal data held about you, and to object to processing. Because we hold no accounts and store no calculator inputs, in practice there is very little for us to hold — but if you believe we have data about you, email hello@uksalary.co.uk and we will respond within 30 days. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
